The TM Education Fund was born when Tyra Murphy chose to run in the Singapore Marathon to support Shayner-Lee Wiese who had started her B Ed Degree (Foundation Phase) and is now living at Assisted Independent Living. Tyra decided that Shayner should be able to study without worrying about varsity fees and ran in this grueling marathon, raising the amazing amount of R180 000.00! The idea of an Education Fund took root as Shayner did not need all of this money “right now” and so The Tyra Murphy Education Fund was born. This fund is now availableto any child from Rainbow of Hope who wishes to study after matric! THANK YOU TYRA!!
Added to that, one of our volunteers, Teboho Mosia, aka Smiley, will be cycling 109km at the 2025 Cape Town Cycle Tour on 9 March to try raise R100 000 for the education fund!
